This gorgeous black chain is Italian sterling silver plated with a black metal called ruthenium. Ruthenium is a hard, metallic, chemical element that is commonly found as a rare earth metal. Ruthenium’s atomic number is 44 and its atomic weight is 101.07. It is a member of the platinum family. At only about 0.0004 parts per million, ruthenium is one of the rarest elements in the earth’s crust. 

Due to the sparkly cut of this chain, it can collect fuzz/lint if worn with particular fabrics. I recommend wearing cotton fabrics or fabrics that do not create as much fuzz or lint with this chain.
