Larimar Teardrop Earrings
Approx. Dimensions: 30 mm long (with bail) x 8 mm (wide) x 3mm (thick)
These gorgeous Larimar earrings are made of .925 sterling silver. Larimar is a truly rare gemstone of volcanic origins. It is only found one place in the world, the Dominican Republic. Larimar was discovered in the 1970's by a local resident that stumbled upon a cave with Larimar lining the walls. He named the newly found gem after his daughter Larissa and the sea ("mar" in Spanish). Larimar is also known as the Dolphin Stone, Blue Pectolite, Atlantis Stone, and Stefilia's Stone. It has been said that the blue variety of the stone has been completely mined out (as it was only found on one square kilometer of the island). Instead, they are finding the green variety of Larimar that is too soft to set in jewelry.
*Please note: This is a natural gem that will have imperfections. There are a few small chips and nicks. Natural beauty <3 This piece was photographed in natural lighting. Different monitors may slightly change the colors in photos.
