🌊Larimar is a truly rare gemstone of volcanic origins. It is only found one place in the world, the Dominican Republic. Larimar was discovered in the 1970's by a local resident that stumbled upon a cave with Larimar lining the walls. He named the newly found gem after his daughter Larissa and the sea ("mar" in Spanish). Larimar is also known as the Dolphin Stone, Blue Pectolite, Atlantis Stone, and Stefilia's Stone. It has been said that the blue variety of the stone has been completely mined out (as it was only found on one square kilometer of the island). Instead, they are finding the green variety of Larimar that is too soft to set in jewelry.
🌙Moonstone is in the feldspar family, and can display chatoyance or "flash." This rainbow moonstone cabochon has some beautiful flash, and is ready to be turned into a stunning piece of jewelry! Moonstones are considered a stone of the Goddess by many. They are associated with the moon and the tides, femininity and yin energy. They are said to help enhance and balance the feminine, yin energy within the body, helping to sync a woman’s reproductive cycle with the rhythm of the moon.
*Please note: this is a natural gem that will have imperfections. This piece was photographed in natural lighting, and held at the proper angles to show full flash potential.
